Legal Support for Tanveer Masih in Alleged Unauthorised Kidney Removal
On August 12, 2025, Tanveer Masih, from Samundri, District Faisalabad, was reportedly taken to Peshawar by his family doctor, Muhammad Sadiq Khursheed, for what he was told was treatment for suspected appendicitis. According to Tanveer and his family, he underwent surgery and was subsequently sent back to Samundri by bus on August 14, 2025.
On September 7, 2025, while visiting a local clinic to have his surgical bandages removed, Tanveer was reportedly informed that one of his kidneys had been removed during the procedure without his knowledge or consent.
The family approached the Organization for Legal Aid (OLA) after the alleged discovery. On September 23, 2025, the OLA team visited Tanveer and his family, reviewed the circumstances of the matter, and assured them of legal assistance and representation in pursuing appropriate legal remedies. At the time of OLA’s intervention, the family reported that an FIR had not yet been registered by the police.
OLA is assisting Tanveer and his family in seeking legal recourse and accountability through the appropriate authorities. The organization remains committed to providing free legal aid to vulnerable minorities facing exploitation, abuse, and violations of their fundamental rights.
