Intizar Masih Blasphemy Case

Legal Representation for Intizar Masih in Blasphemy Case

Intizar Masih, a Christian man from Sangla Hill, District Faisalabad, was booked in a blasphemy case on March 18, 2023, after being accused of allegedly sharing blasphemous posts in a WhatsApp group. He was arrested on June 10, 2023, and remains in custody at Camp Jail, Lahore.

Organization for Legal Aid (OLA) took up his case and filed a post-arrest bail petition before the Sessions Court, Lahore, in July 2023. The petition was argued in October 2023 but was dismissed. OLA continued to represent Intizar throughout the proceedings and pursued the required legal and procedural steps, including follow-up regarding the challan, FIA compliance, and framing of charges.

Charges were formally framed on August 29, 2024. Over the following year, the court recorded the evidence of 13 prosecution witnesses, including the complainant and FIA Cyber Crime officials. The proceedings were subsequently delayed on several occasions, primarily due to the non-availability of prosecution witnesses and changes in the presiding judge.

In May 2026, OLA filed a fresh post-arrest bail petition, while continuing to pursue the trial proceedings. The case remains pending before the Sessions Court, Lahore, and Intizar remains in custody.

OLA continues to provide legal representation and pursue available remedies on his behalf, with a focus on due process, fair trial rights, and judicial consideration of his request for bail.
