Release of Rafaqat Masih and His Family from Bonded Labour
On July 28, 2026, the Organization for Legal Aid (OLA) secured the release of Rafaqat Masih and his family from bonded labour following their request for legal assistance.
After receiving the family’s complaint, OLA’s legal team reviewed the circumstances of the case and initiated legal proceedings before the Lahore High Court by filing a Habeas Corpus Petition. The legal intervention resulted in the recovery and release of Rafaqat Masih and his family from the conditions of bonded labour.
Through its intervention, OLA helped restore the family’s freedom and protect their fundamental rights to liberty and dignity. The case demonstrates the importance of accessible legal representation for individuals and families who are vulnerable to exploitation and forced labour.
OLA continues to provide free legal assistance to victims of bonded labour and other human rights violations, helping vulnerable individuals seek protection and justice through lawful legal remedies.
