Shoukat Javed Blasphemy Case

About This Case

Acquittal of Shouqat Javaid in Blasphemy Case
Shouqat Javaid was arrested on May 29, 2024, in connection with a blasphemy case registered in District Attock. The Organization for Legal Aid (OLA) provided legal representation and pursued the matter through the judicial process.
On March 6, 2026, the court acquitted Shouqat Javaid. OLA counsel had intended to seek his acquittal through a petition under Section 249-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure. However, the learned judge determined that a separate petition was not necessary and exercised the court’s own authority to acquit Shouqat. The prosecution also failed to produce the required witnesses during the proceedings.
The acquittal brought an end to the case against Shouqat Javaid and restored his legal standing following the proceedings.
OLA remains committed to providing free legal representation to individuals facing serious criminal allegations and to protecting the principles of due process, fair trial, and equal access to justice.
